Our Elixir

Oh mother! Our elixir
Our very source of existence
How dynamically you sustain us!
You possess
Unparallel humility, magnanimity and compassion!!

You! The mother of this realm
Dispassionately made us, the microorganism
Of this world
Wear the crown of kings and queens of this realm!!
Making each moment of our life
Larger than you!

Despite our burden on you
Begrudgingly you revivify our existence
Acting as a tutelary
Protecting us day and night!

To ensconce our stay on this realm
You provided us with flora and fauna
Which is a sight for sore eyes!!
And made us conversant with
Autumn, winter, summer & spring

Oh mother!! I feel excruciatingly sad for humanity
For our dastardly behaviour towards you
Instead of paying humble obeisance to you
We have been steadfast in inflicting pain to you

Marinated in greed and foolishness
We are committed in turning mills to malls
Trees to buildings
And proudly say we are in the globalised world!!

Oh mother Earth!!
Your compassion is incredible!
Humans become humane
We are indebted to her!!

Realise we don’t own this earth
It’s loaned to us by our children
Hence, let’s pay respect to
Our mother Earth
By replenishing it’s beauty
At least for posterity!!
