Oh! What a noble vision they possess
A vision to provide education
And to accomplish this noble mission
They plan to introduce reservation!

On one hand they tart up to be egalitarian
On the other they come up with reservation
Compelling the youth to go on agitation!
But youth, that’s not the way to seek a solution

Your magnanimity is truly admirable!
How astutely you sow the seed of antagonism

Your meretricious cause

Catastrophic Anger

Yet again I emerged victorious
Over my enemy
A parasitic enemy residing within me
Trying to annihilate my indestructible core
And cast a shadow over
My goodness!

Ah! Evil anger
You try hard to entice me
By making my environment
A bloody hell

Dear Anger,
I admire your audacity
To confront with me time and again

Change of Guard

Unwaveringly I wandered on my future
As many of my married comrades felt forlorn
And few were back to their paternal home
I wondered if mine would be one

Being on the cusp of marriage scared me
I prayed fervently to exorcise my fear
My fear became very dear
Soon my fear took a topsy-turvy
And transformed into conviction
A conviction to lead a blissful married life

With this conviction
I developed the heart of a lion
And fearlessly decided to forge the bond of marriage

Father, the Indian Army titled you as a true solider
Then, to me you were mere father
You bravely resisted the bullets fired by the society
For being supportive off me
And giving me the liberty to fulfill my aspirations
Your support
Has compelled me to call you a brave soldier!

Father! Soon your dream would be realised
Of seeing me as a bride
The change of guard would be smooth
The person may not be a soldier
But surefire to walk shoulder to shoulder

I sat on your lap as a toddler
Soon would sit on your lap for one last time
This time for the change of guard

Our very source of existence

Dispassionately made us, the microorganism

Wear the crown of kings and queens of this realm!!
Making each moment of our life

Despite our burden on you

Acting as a tutelary

To ensconce our stay on this realm
You provided us with flora and fauna
Which is a sight for sore eyes!!
And made us conversant with

Oh mother!! I feel excruciatingly sad for humanity
For our dastardly behaviour towards you
Instead of paying humble obeisance to you
We have been steadfast in inflicting pain to you

Marinated in greed and foolishness
We are committed in turning mills to malls
Trees to buildings
And proudly say we are in the globalised world!!

Oh mother Earth!!
Your compassion is incredible!
Humans become humane
We are indebted to her!!

Realise we don’t own this earth
It’s loaned to us by our children

NEW CLEAR WORLD

As human existence is like dew on the grass
The pungent desire for peace is the battle cry
Valiantly we would march ahead
Caressing the breeze of unity and propinquity
To make this world a better place in the 21st century!

In the name of democracy
Let’s not pillage the pulchritude
Of our existence in this world

In the twilight of frozen day
Amidst the sound of bullets
Cries could be heard from a family
One an ethereal voice
A cry of a new life
Just out of mother’s womb
Crying over fate
To be born in this insouciant world!

The other harsh cry from the family
Was a lachrymose cry
For having lost their beloved
To a terrorist!

Oh! The valley of peace
Once bejeweled with cherries and apples
Against the backdrop of snow
Has now turned into a valley of blood
The pristine snow of the valley changed to Red!
Peace! Come back to this valley

I tried hard to conjure away
The doubts that beset me
The cause of
The protection of my castle of peace

By labeling myself fortunate
To be able to fly on the golden wings
Of this priceless treasure called Friend!

What an electrifying effect
This friend has in our lives!
